Funeral allowance in the event of the death of the victim
In the event of a person’s death, relatives may receive financial support in the form of a funeral allowance.
The funeral allowance is paid to the person who has undertaken the funeral:
- in the event of the death of an employee, self-employed person or dependent family member;
- in the event of the death of an unemployed person;
- in the event of the death of a pension or insurance beneficiary;
- in the event of the death of a recipient of state social security benefits.
If the deceased person meets several conditions that entitle the undertaker to receive this benefit, the largest funeral benefit is paid.

Survivor’s pension if the breadwinner has died
If the breadwinner has died, the family members of the deceased breadwinner who were dependent on him and are unable to work are entitled to a survivor’s pension. The children of the deceased are entitled to a survivor’s pension regardless of whether they were dependent on the deceased.
Children under the age of 18 (including brothers, sisters, and grandchildren under the age of 18 if they do not have parents who are able to work) are considered to be family members who are unable to work.
The age limit does not apply to these persons if they were declared disabled before reaching the age of 18.
After reaching the age of 18, the right to a survivor’s pension for the children of the deceased breadwinner (including brothers, sisters, and grandchildren if they do not have parents who are able to work) is if they are studying full-time at general or vocational education institutions, colleges or universities, except for periods when the person has interrupted their studies and has not reached the age of 24.
